Vincent Van Gogh at Zevenberger

Vincent didn't go much to the Zevenberger school (one year). Maybe he also went to the nursery school there? His parents and the governesses must have taught him how to write, to count, to draw... When he was eleven, he was enrolled in a small private Protestant boarding school in Zevenberger, a village near Zundert. He must have felt rejected, because his brothers and sisters stayed at home. Vincent will spend two years there, and learn three languages, though he would say later that he had not learned anything...
